Role Description

Our top client is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Litigation Lawyer to join their growing team. This role involves representing plaintiffs in medical negligence claims against healthcare professionals and institutions, including hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes.

The successful candidate will handle complex litigation matters involving medical errors, misdiagnoses, surgical mistakes, and other forms of professional negligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing and screening potential tort and medical malpractice claims
  • Conducting in-depth legal and medical research
  • Investigating claims and gathering critical evidence, including medical records and expert reports
  • Consulting with medical experts to establish negligence and causation
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and legal briefs
  • Managing all aspects of litigation, from discovery to trial
  • Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
  • Providing compassionate legal counsel to clients throughout the claims process
  • Advocating for maximum compensation for injured clients

Qualifications

  • Member in good standing with the Ontario Bar
  • 1+ years of experience in medical malpractice or personal injury litigation
  • Strong understanding of medical and negligence law
  • Ability to analyze complex medical records and expert reports
  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills
  • Strong negotiation and client-relations skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
  • High levels of empathy, patience, and attention to detail
  • Passion for advocating for injured individuals

This role is also open to insurance defense lawyers looking to transition into plaintiff-side litigation.
