We are currently accepting applications for a Personal Care Worker (PCW) to join our Halifax team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming)
  • Assist residents with meals and snacks
  • Engage residents and families in leisure and recreational activities
  • Facilitate participation in recreation programs
  • Promote interaction among residents and families
  • Safely transfer and mobilize residents, including using assistive devices
  • Perform other related tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved PCW/CCA program with NS provincial certification, or
  • Currently enrolled in LPN or RN programs, or
  • Completed PCW, Health Care Aide, or similar courses, or
  • Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) registered with NNAS or CNO, actively pursuing LPN/RN license or CCA certification (Northwood offers support for these processes)
  • Registered with the PLAR program with NSHA
  • Current First-Aid and CPR certification
  • Previous related experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and clinical skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Reliable attendance
