Job summary

ComForCare seeks a Personal Care Assistant to support clients with daily living activities and homemaker/companion services per an established care plan.

You will assist with bathing, grooming, mobility, meal prep, light housekeeping, and medication assistance as needed, along with providing companionship to help clients remain at home.

The role requires good English communication, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation; a flexible schedule is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent certificate.
• Meets passing criteria on PCA skills test.
• Meets passing criteria on DEARS test (Drugs and Ethics).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
• Possess a valid driver's license and have access to an insured vehicle or transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Provide homemaker/companion services and family respite support.
• Assist with medications that the client self-administers as needed.

Job Summary:

The Personal Care Assistant provides clients various personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain in their residence.

Essential Functions:

• Personal Care
  • Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail /skin care, back care, foot care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercise, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, lifts), change of position, with toileting, commode, incontinent care, meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding
• Companion/Sitter
  • Provide companionship and respite services for family
  • Perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms
• Medication Services
  • Assist with medications that the client self-administers

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
