Description

This role serves as an ambassador for new and existing members of Alterna, requiring the incumbent to assess members' needs, identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling, and provide appropriate guidance on products and services. The associate will also handle cash transactions and service members accordingly.

Major Responsibilities

  • Follow all sales and service processes
  • Achieve sales targets by offering suitable products and services
  • Uncover additional needs through probing and cross-selling
  • Educate members on basic transactional banking and less complex investment and credit options
  • Accurately execute transaction posting, cash management, and administrative procedures
  • Refer high-value or high-potential members to appropriate staff
  • Maximize growth and retention through opportunity spotting
  • Participate actively in branch meetings, sales initiatives, and campaigns
  • Be available for walk-in traffic and member-initiated contact
  • Maintain knowledge of all products and procedural updates
  • Use sales and service tools effectively during member interactions
  • Develop and pursue personal development plans
  • Engage in regular goal setting and coaching sessions
  • Comply with anti-money laundering and regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in community initiatives as assigned
  • Perform other duties as required

Education / Certifications / Experience

  • Post-secondary education with at least 2 years in sales or equivalent experience
  • Experience in financial services is an asset
  • Proven sales success
  • Experience with credit solutions is an asset

Knowledge / Skills

  • Knowledge of investments, loans, and basic mortgages
  • Basic sales skills for opportunity spotting and needs analysis
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel and Word
  • Problem-solving skills for addressing member issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
