The Permitting Specialist at JDS Group of Companies will serve as a liaison between the permitting team and Integrated Project Team stakeholders to coordinate technical deliverables for timely regulatory submissions on a large-scale mine development project in Canada.
The role focuses on aligning engineering and environmental documentation with Canadian permitting requirements, tracking document control, and supporting submission readiness with cross-functional teams.
The Permitting Specialist will support the permitting team by serving as a liaison between the permitting function and Integrated Project Team (IPT) stakeholders. The role focuses on coordinating technical deliverables to ensure permitting timelines are achieved with clarity and consistency. This position plays a key role in aligning engineering and environmental documentation with regulatory submission requirements for a large-scale mine development project.
Liaison & Coordination:
- Act as the bridge between the permitting team and IPT disciplines (engineering, environmental, project controls, etc.).
- Ensure technical deliverables required for permitting submissions are coordinated, complete, and submitted on time.
Technical Document Tracking:
- Track deliverables related to permits (e.g., drawings, technical memos, environmental studies).
- Confirm content quality, formatting, and alignment with regulatory requirements.
Schedule Alignment:
- Work closely with permitting and project controls to track submission timelines and identify at-risk deliverables.
- Flag schedule conflicts or technical coordination issues and support resolution.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Facilitate regular coordination meetings between permitting and IPT teams.
- Summarize and document action items, upcoming deadlines, and deliverable assignments.
Documentation Support:
- Assist with the compilation and submission of permitting applications.
- Maintain an organized record of supporting documentation, change history, and regulatory correspondence.
- Competitive hourly rate or salaried compensation with benefits.

- Primarily office-based with flexibility for hybrid work.
- Monday–Friday schedule with occasional extended hours around key submission deadlines.
