Job summary

Regional District of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Utilities Operator for Water Services, based in Parksville. The role supports the Water Services Department in operating and maintaining water, sewer, drainage, and streetlighting services, ensuring service expectations and department goals are met.

The successful candidate will have a water technology/water treatment diploma and EOCP certifications, plus a valid BC driver's license.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in water technology and/or water treatment with 2 years of related experience
• EOCP Certifications in Wastewater Collection I, Water Distribution II and Water Treatment I
• Valid BC Driver's License with Heavy Trailer endorsement or Class 3 License

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water distribution and treatment equipment.
• Conduct laboratory testing and monitor water quality.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and assist team members as needed
