Join a leading healthcare organization's Medical Imaging team in Northeastern Ontario. We are looking for Radiologists specialized in Women's Imaging and Neuroradiology. Positions offer competitive salaries, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to contribute to exceptional patient care within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.
Join Northeastern Ontario’s healthcare leader
The Department of Medical Imaging at Health Sciences North (HSN) is actively seeking Radiologists with fellowship training in Women’s Imaging and/or Diagnostic Neuroradiology to join our team in full-time, permanent roles. As the designated tertiary care referral centre for Northeastern Ontario, HSN serves a catchment area of over 600,000 residents. Our department provides a dynamic and medically diverse environment, offering flexible scheduling and exceptional opportunities for both personal and professional growth.
The Medical Imaging Department at HSN uses state-of-the-art equipment to perform both diagnostic and interventional procedures, providing residents of Northeastern Ontario closer-to-home access to advanced imaging services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in Women’s Imaging at HSN, a leading tertiary breast screening centre. Responsibilities include participating in a comprehensive breast imaging program, which performs over 15,000 digital screening and diagnostic mammograms annually. As an Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) High Risk site, the department conducts approximately 200 breast MRI exams each year, along with 100 stereotactic and over 300 ultrasound-guided core biopsies.
The candidate will also support HSN's role as a regional referral centre for gynecological and obstetrical imaging within the North East LHIN, interpreting a growing volume of pelvic MRIs, especially with the recent installation of a Siemens 3T VIDA MRI scanner, expanding the Women's Imaging MRI program.
The successful candidate will contribute to the Diagnostic Neuroradiology team at HSN, managing a high-volume practice that includes approximately 15,000 CT scans of the brain, head & neck, and spine, as well as 10,000 MRI exams annually.
HSN serves as a regional stroke center with an on-site Endovascular Thrombectomy (EVT) program, providing critical neuroimaging support for acute stroke care. The role involves interpreting a wide range of neuroradiology studies with a focus on timely and accurate diagnosis to support urgent clinical decision-making.
These opportunities offer the chance to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team within a growing imaging department that prioritizes exceptional patient care and diagnostic precision.
Average compensation for Radiologists with subspecialization in Women’s Imaging and/or Neuroradiology ranges from $400,000 to $500,000 per year via fee-for-service billings through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
Clinical Radiology services are provided at the HSN Main Site, located at 41 Ramsey Lake Rd., Sudbury, and at the Sudbury Outpatient Clinic (SOC), located at 865 Regent Street, Sudbury.
Candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized medical school, have completed an accredited residency program, and hold specialty certification in Diagnostic Radiology. Additional training in Women’s Imaging and/or Neuroradiology is required. Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
The successful applicant will be expected to obtain a faculty appointment with NOSM-University and support the academic mandate of the Department of Medical Imaging. Research opportunities are available through the Health Sciences North Research Institute.
