Parkland School Division No 70 Centre for Education is seeking an Educational Assistant for Carievale School in Carievale, SK. Start September 2, 2026, continuing appointment with CUPE benefits.

Duties include supporting students with diverse needs and implementing life skills programming under teacher direction. Applicants should have a Grade 12 diploma and an educational assistant diploma or equivalent; First Aid, NVCI, autism/behavioral background are assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma from an institution recognized by the Board of Education.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and be flexible.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated knowledge of school computer software such as word processing and computer assisted learning software.
• An Educational Assistant diploma or equivalent, NVCI, First Aid, Autism and Behavioral education background will be considered assets.
• Commitment to the ideals of public education as well as the mission, vision and guiding principles of the South East Cornerstone Public School Division.

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse needs and/or high behavioral needs.
• Attend to personal hygiene and medical needs as required.
• Prepare and plan student-based life skills and academic programming under the direction of a teacher.
• Focus on transitioning the student to work with other students and adults.
• Implement and monitor behaviour and safety plans created for students.
• Supervise intensive needs students and small groups as required.
• The successful applicant may be required to lift up to 60 pounds without a lift and up to 120 pounds with assistance.
• Transport students as needed; a personal vehicle may be required.

Equivalent to 6.25 hours per day student days

Duties

• In addition to those duties outlined in the job description, duties include supporting students with diverse needs and/or high behavioral needs. The successful applicant may be required to perform the following:
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without a lift and up to 120 pounds with 2 man lift or mechanical lift
• Transport students (personal vehicle may be required to transport)
• Attend to personal hygiene and medical needs as required
• Prepare and plan student-based life skills and academic programming under direction of teacher
• Focus on successfully transitioning the student to be able to work with other students and adults
• Focus on behaviour and safety plan created specifically for students as required
• Supervision of intensive needs student(s) as well as small groups of students as required

Salary & Benefits

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the currently negotiated CUPE Collective Agreement as listed on our website www.secpsd.ca. The starting wage for this position is currently $20.12/hour along with a full benefit package and an employer defined pension plan.
