Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology required, along with registration with Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.
  • Experience in education sector and knowledge of learning disorders is preferred.

This is a permanent full-time position that will commence at the start of 2025-2026 school year.

Role Overview

Psychologists provide a comprehensive range of services to students whose ability to learn is impacted. Psychologists utilize diagnostic assessments, consultation and collaboration, and apply expertise in mental health, learning disorders, and intellectual disabilities to adapt programming and enhance learning opportunities and success for students.

What You Will Do

  • Work primarily within a classroom environment to support the Response to Intervention framework focused on developing, implementing and monitoring interventions and strategies that meet the social, emotional, behavioural and learning needs of students.
  • Provide timely diagnostic, assessment, and consultation services for students with learning disorders or intellectual disabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with students and families, to connect them with community service providers as part of an intervention plan.
  • Proactively conduct risk assessments of student safety, emotional and behavioural needs, implement crisis prevention practices and deliver crisis intervention and response services to promote safe and healthy learning environments.
  • Maintain up-to-date assessments and intervention records.
  • Build the capacity of teachers and administrators using a variety of proactive, innovative and effective professional development delivery techniques, including in-class modeling, collegial mentoring and coaching, professional reference materials and presenting at professional learning events.
  • Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Student Services Coordinator.
What Will Make You Successful

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology.
  • Registered and in good standing with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.
  • Certified in school psychology competencies from the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.
  • Possible experience working in the education sector as a teacher.
  • Knowledge of assessment, intervention, and consultation methods in relation to childhood and adolescent learning disorders.
  • Superior case management tracking, documentation, writing and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to professional standards and ethics of the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.
  • Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
What You Can Expect

  • Salary is in accordance with the current STF agreement plus 10% allowance.
  • 100% employer paid health benefits plan.

  • Hours of work are 8 hours per day on school days. Psychologists are not scheduled to work during school vacation periods including the summer break.
  • Additional working conditions, leave provisions and other benefits are described in the non-unionized Conditions of Employment agreement.
  • Daily travel to schools is required using a system fleet vehicle where possible or with mileage paid for use of personal vehicle.
