As a Permanent Teacher for DDSB, you’ll create a vibrant and supportive learning environment where students thrive. You’ll bring your passion for teaching to the classroom, guiding students through their educational journey and fostering a love for learning.

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

Secondary Internal/External Hiring Process

All qualified applications are welcome. Applications from qualified candidates will be considered:

  • First Consideration: Teachers covered by the OSSTF Permanent Teachers’ Collective Agreement (1.0., 0.5, Article 10 teachers) who possess the required qualifications.(For clarity, an Article 10 teacher is a day school teacher at Durham Continuing Education who has signed a contract with the Board They are considered Article 10 for the school year.)
  • Second Consideration: Candidates from outside of the OSSTF permanent bargaining unit.
