Job summary

EBC is seeking an accomplished Project Director to lead large-scale construction projects from bidding through final payment. You will ensure strong cross-functional communication, maintain client relationships, and drive profitability and schedule discipline on site.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years of experience managing multi-million dollar projects, are fluent in English and French (asset), and hold a civil engineering degree with professional registration; PMP or LEED AP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing projects over $30 million.
• Member of an engineering professional order.
• PMP or LEED AP certification (asset).
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Bilingualism in French and English (asset).

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership from bidding to delivery and final payment.
• Ensure cohesive communication among project managers and maintain client relationships.
• Identify and mitigate risks affecting profitability and schedule.
• Oversee project schedule, critical path, and updates.
• Lead LEAN initiatives on construction sites to improve efficiency.
• Approve subcontractor and supplier invoices and manage payments.
• Coordinate preconstruction activities and support bid strategies.

RESPONSABILITIES

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the ProjectDirector holds full responsibility for the successful delivery of the projectsunder their supervision—from project setup during the bidding phase through toproject delivery and final payment. They ensure strong cohesion and effectivecommunication among all managers assigned to the projects. They maintainbusiness relationships with clients.

Operational Management

• Provide a healthy andsafe work environment for all employees, suppliers, and subcontractorsoperating under EBC’s authority;
  
• Conduct projectprofitability studies, prepare financial forecasts, analyze variances, andpresent results;
  
• Negotiate subcontractingagreements and ensure optimal supplier management;
  
• Manage the projectschedule, tracking indicators, critical path, and ensure rigorous updates;
  
• Identify contentiousissues that may affect project profitability and/or schedule, andimplement appropriate corrective actions;
  
• Maintain a regularpresence on construction sites, identify necessary corrective measures,and collaborate with the superintendent for implementation;
  
• Implement LEANphilosophy on job sites to optimize operational efficiency;
  
• Approve subcontractorand supplier invoices;
  
• Oversee the preparationof payment applications and ensure they are submitted to the owner;
  
• Ensure full projectcloseout (substantial completion, project closeout manual, release ofholdbacks, etc.);
  
• Comply with EBC qualitycontrol requirements and the ISO program.
  

Business Development

• Act as a keyrepresentative of EBC to current and potential clients, buildinglong-term, trust-based business relationships;
  
• Actively participate inidentifying new project opportunities and expanding the businessportfolio;
  
• Contribute topreconstruction activities by supporting preliminary estimates,feasibility analyses, and bidding strategies;
  
• Develop an in-depthunderstanding of the market, industry trends, and client needs toeffectively position EBC;
  
• Provide advisory supportto clients to enhance service offerings and optimize proposed solutions;
  
• Promote EBC’s brand andexpertise during events, conferences, and networking activities;
  
• Ensure a smoothtransition between the project development phase and the execution phase.

Profil

• Bachelor’s degree incivil engineering, construction, or any other equivalent combination ofeducation and experience;
