Quinte Health is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to join our surgical team. The role involves direct patient care, preoperative teaching, and collaboration with the health-care team to plan and evaluate care within the operating room environment.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of OR nursing experience, current RN registration in Ontario, a Post Graduate OR Certificate, and CPR/BCLS, with the ability to work across days, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Formación

• Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Completed Post Graduate Operating Room Certificate.
• Current CPR or BCLS certificate.
• Minimum of 1-year operating room or surgical nursing experience.
• Available to work all shifts (days, evenings, weekends) and on call duty.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and have strong organizational skills.
• Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis PDA available to review).
• Medical Surveillance is required for personnel routinely working with mechanical equipment and the class of lasers used in the OR. A hearing test and eye exam must be arranged.

Responsabilidades

• Utilizes the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
• Provides preoperative teaching to patients & families as required
• Performs acts requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgment in assessing health needs and in planning, administering and evaluating patient care in the operating room environment
• Responsible to work collaboratively with other members of the health care team who contribute to the provision of patient care.
• Maintains nursing records.
• Participates in Quality Improvement programs to ensure a high level of patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.
