About the Opportunity

The Perioperative Quality Leader, under the direction of the Perioperative Director and Physician Co-Leads, provides leadership for all services in the Perioperative Program. This role promotes quality management practices to enhance overall performance and supports Nova Scotia’s Health Strategic Plan and operational goals. The position involves working with co-leadership and multidisciplinary teams to implement process improvements for quality and continuous enhancement.

Site location will be determined based on the successful applicant's location. Regular travel within the Northern Zone is required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you meet the following criteria:

  1. Graduate degree in a health-specific field or equivalent education and experience
  2. Undergraduate degree in a healthcare discipline; Master's degree is an asset
  3. Appropriate licensure/membership in a professional organization
  4. Minimum 5 years of perioperative or management experience in a perioperative care setting
  5. Understanding of quality systems, innovations, and patient care
  6. Knowledge of perioperative procedures, complications, and patient populations
  7. Ability to coach others in continuous quality improvement and regulatory requirements
  8. Strong project management, coaching, teaching, and transfer of skills
  9. Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and group leadership skills
  10. Proven change agent with the ability to work effectively across organizational levels
  11. High analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  12. Experience with information management and computer skills
  13. Operational and strategic planning skills
  14. Commitment to promoting a respectful workplace environment
  15. Additional language skills, especially French, are an asset

Hours

Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours biweekly. Travel between sites is required.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $40.95 - $51.19. Successful candidates may be eligible for benefits including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
