In this exciting, dual role, you will embrace opportunities to come alongside our YMCA leaders and teams to support their recruitment and talent needs, along with providing administrative support to our People Operations teams to triage employee inquiries about our People programs. As we continue to align our policies and procedures across our organization and work through a major upgrade to our HRIS system, you will also have an opportunity to contribute to process improvements and project activities. We are working to simplify, streamline, and automate our processes, and need a creative, innovative, self-motivated change champion to coordinate our people operations practices. You will partner with an amazing team to provide administration and coordination support as required on the development and maintenance of existing people programs. What You Will Do…

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Recruitment & Hiring Process – full-cycle recruitment support from preparing job postings, coordinating interviews, reference checking support, offer package preparation, along with onboarding and orientation administration for new hires and our internal employee transfers.
  • Talent Specialist Supports – Build community connections to increase our talent pool by building relationships with community services, colleges, and universities, enabling our social media and in-person presence, and participating in job fairs and information sessions to elevate our employer experience by attracting talent to our Ys. Strong passion for bringing an equity lens to hiring practices through diversity, equity, and inclusion areas of focus and working collaboratively with diverse candidates and equity-deserving communities to foster better outreach and recruitment partnerships.
  • People Operations Inquiry – Support with inquiries and emails from leaders and employees about various questions related to their employment experiences
  • Workforce Planning Administration – Help coordinate reporting, tracking, and coordination support for work in this area (e.g., return to work, end of employment administration, leaves of absence, immigration, etc.)
  • Payroll, Pension, and Benefits Administration Support – Help answer questions to confidential inquiries, troubleshoot HRIS user issues, and timecard support from leaders and employees
  • Other People Practices and Projects - Prepare HR documentation, maintain employee records in our HRIS with accuracy, and provide project work assistance with ongoing improvements as part of unification alignment, and other projects as assigned to support the team.

What You Will Bring…

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Work Experiences : Previous 2-3 years in recruitment or human resources, supporting talent acquisition or human resources services teams to build stronger candidate / employee experiences.
  • Education : Completion of College Diploma or University Degree and / or transferable working experience in human resources or comparable area; CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation in progress is an asset.
  • Other Qualifications : Knowledge of employment legislation and principles of Human Resource Management; Competent ability to use HRIS systems, other similar internal Systems, Microsoft Office Products and Applications

Key Areas : Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information, deal with people tactfully at all times, and ability to multitask in a time-sensitive environment with strong attention to detail and completion of processes.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and troubleshooting skills
  • Self-starter who can focus on balancing several priorities and managing workload and priorities independently

This role requires regular travel across the region, which may not always be easily accessible through public transit.The employee must be able to arrange their own transportation to these sites.A valid G driver’s license and full-time vehicle access are strongly recommended.
