Job description

When it comes to health, we’re always looking for waysto push for better. It’s why we were founded in the first place. In 1957, our founder, pharmacist William Wilkinson, witnessed a mother sacrifice her health by forgoing her own medicine to pay for her sick daughter’s prescription. He knew there had to be a better way. So, he introduced North America’s first prepaid drug plan, and GreenShield was born as a not-for-profit with a mission to support better health for all Canadians.

We aren’t just a health and benefits company. We’re the only not-for-profit social enterprise that brings worlds of coverage and care together, all in one place.

We’re noble challengers, purposefully building a better way and we need the best people to help us create a more holistic approach that takes care of the mind and body.

Our mission is to create better health for all Canadians, and we know that starts with our employees.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the People & Culture (P&C) Co-op Student will work closely with members of the P&C Delivery & Talent Acquisition team to execute on critical projects and strategic initiatives. This hands-on experience will allow you to refine your communication skills, develop a deep understanding of processes, lean-into basic data and reporting skills, and collaborate with professionals who are passionate about fostering an inclusive and thriving work environment.

As an integral part of our P&C team, the Co-op student will assist with providing valuable support in carrying out the day-to-day People and Culture activities of our organization. There is a primary focus on the facilitation of full-cycle recruitment for GreenShield’s summer student program; this will give the co-op student a unique opportunity to engage with talented candidates, assist in organizing engaging recruitment events, and contribute to the growth of our diverse workforce. Other activities may include reporting from our ATS (Applicant Tracking System), analyzing employee data, managing job aids and support documents, and reviewing recruitment communications.

As a representative of the P&C team, the Co-op Student will conduct themselves in a professional manner and exhibit high levels of professionalism in all contexts and situations.

To be eligible for our Student Program, you must have completed one full year at a University or Community College on a full-time basis, as of August 2025 and must be returning to full-time attendance in September 2026 and provide your proof of enrolment at the time of application. Full-time attendance at school is defined as 4 or more courses per semester. Students are eligible for up to three years of summer employment with GreenShield.

Students will be required to work in-office, two days per week, at the Toronto or Windsor office.
