Job description

Who You Are

You are a strategic and forward-thinking HR professional who is energized by the opportunity to influence the business beyond traditional HR support. You are naturally curious, solutions-oriented, and motivated by understanding how the business operates, what challenges leaders are facing, and what teams need to thrive.

You excel at building strong partnerships and becoming a trusted advisor to leaders by combining business insight with people expertise. You are adept at identifying trends, uncovering root causes, and translating data and observations into meaningful insights and practical solutions that drive impact.

You thrive in environments that are evolving and fast-paced, where you can proactively spot opportunities, challenge the status quo, and help shape better ways of working. Comfortable balancing strategy with execution, you know when to zoom out and think long-term while also supporting leaders through day-to-day people challenges when needed.

Most importantly, you are passionate about helping build strong leaders, healthy team cultures, and exceptional employee experiences that contribute to organizational success.

The Impact You’ll Have

Reporting to the Director, People Business Partnering, you will play a critical role in evolving the People Business Partner function into a more strategic, insight-driven partnership for the business.

Working closely with operational leaders across Manitoba and Saskatchewan, you will develop a deep understanding of regional priorities, workforce challenges, and business opportunities to help leaders build and sustain high-performing teams. By identifying trends, leveraging workforce insights, and proactively addressing risks and opportunities, you will help shape people strategies that drive engagement, leadership capability, retention, and operational success.

Your ability to connect business needs with thoughtful people solutions will help leaders navigate change, strengthen culture, and make informed decisions that positively impact employees, patients, and the long-term success of the organization.

In This Role, You Will
  • Partner closely with regional leaders to understand business priorities, workforce challenges, and opportunities, providing strategic people guidance that supports operational success.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders by balancing strategic partnership with practical support on day-to-day people matters.
  • Leverage workforce data, trends, and insights to proactively identify risks, uncover opportunities, and recommend solutions that strengthen engagement, retention, and team performance.
  • Support and influence key People initiatives across the region, including leadership development, employee engagement, recognition, succession planning, and culture-building programs.
  • Coach and develop leaders to strengthen leadership capability, improve team effectiveness, and foster high-performing, values-driven cultures.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, performance management, workplace investigations, and terminations, ensuring fair and consistent practices aligned with employment legislation and organizational standards.
  • Drive the successful implementation and adoption of People programs, tools, and processes by acting as a change partner for operational leaders and teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Centres of Excellence and support teams to deliver integrated, business-aligned people solutions.
  • Translate enterprise and provincial People strategies into practical, regionally relevant action plans that support organizational goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of People initiatives using metrics and workforce insights to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
  • Partner with leaders to identify talent needs, build succession plans, and create development opportunities that strengthen retention and leadership pipelines.
  • Support compliance with employment standards, workers’ compensation requirements, and organizational policies across the region.
  • Travel up to 20% to support practices and leaders across Manitoba.
What You’ll Bring
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; CHRL designation (or in progress) is considered an asset.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in an HR Business Partner or strategic HR advisory role.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people strategies to operational priorities and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify trends, analyze workforce data, and develop practical, insight-driven solutions to complex people challenges.
  • Curiosity and openness to leveraging technology, data, and AI-enabled tools to improve processes, uncover insights, and enhance decision-making.
  • A forward-thinking mindset with an interest in evolving how HR partners with the business through analytics, automation, and more strategic use of data.
  • Experience supporting leaders in fast-paced, multi-site, or operationally complex environments.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including workplace investigations, performance management, and navigating sensitive people matters with sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to build credibility, influence leaders, and establish strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate change and ambiguity effectively.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems; experience working with workforce analytics and reporting tools is considered an asset.
