Global Assessments & People Analytics & Insights

The Global Assessments & People Analytics & Insights group at Citigroup uses workforce and business data to solve business problems. We conduct analyses to support evidence-based decision-making for Workforce Planning, Risk & Control, and Regulatory workstreams. We use statistical models for predictive analysis and provide actionable insights to equip decision-makers with the data they need to optimize people decisions and drive business performance.

Job Responsibilities for Data Scientist- Assistant Vice President.

• Translate Business Problems: Apply analytical/technical expertise to convert business challenges into actionable solutions.
• Project Execution & Automation: Lead and automate analytical projects, ensuring outputs meet client needs and expectations.
• Team Leadership: Guide a team of junior analysts in tackling complex analytical problems.
• Data Analysis & ETL: Perform ETL tasks and conduct exploratory, confirmatory, and qualitative data analyses, utilizing statistical models/algorithms in Python, R, SAS, etc.
• Model Development: Leverage data mining and machine learning techniques to build statistical models across various topics.
• Database Management: Collaborate with technology and other partners to build and maintain the People Analytics and Insights database. Integrate multiple systems and data sources, transform and clean data, and handle incomplete data sources.
• Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with current trends and research in data science, research, and technology.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree, preferably in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a B.Tech in Computer Science/IT.
• Experience: 6+ years of experience in:
  • Data Science, Visualization, and Automation with Python.
  • Python packages like Pandas, Scikit-learn, Seaborn, NumPy, Plotly, etc.
  • Advanced SQL (or similar language for querying relational databases).
  • SAS, R, and other scripting languages.
  • Tableau and other data visualization tools.
• ML Expertise: Proficiency in ML algorithms, including Classification Models, Clustering Models, time series forecasting, and natural language processing (NLP) using spaCy, NLTK, etc.
• Project Management: Proven ability to lead projects and deliver on time.
• Database Management: Experience managing large databases, data management, including understanding data structures, data transformation, validation, and audit methods.
• Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills are essential.
• Data Handling: Ability to manage and work with structured and unstructured data accurately.
• Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple research/analytics projects concurrently.
• Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Preferred Skills: Business and HR acumen.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a matrix work environment.
