Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Tactical Security Guard in Charlottetown, Nova Scotia. You will patrol premises, verify access, respond to threats, and prepare clear reports on incidents and observations.

The role requires alertness, professionalism, and the ability to work across diverse environments including retail and airports. Ideal candidates are physically capable, with strong communication skills and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Security Guard License.
• Valid First Aid certification is required.
• Driver Licence Class 5 is required.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of critical areas to deter suspicious activity.
• Verify identification and control access to restricted areas.
• Respond quickly and professionally to security threats, incidents, and emergencies.
• Document incidents, actions taken, and observations through reports.
• Monitor and verify proper functioning of security systems and cameras.
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site investigations as required.
• Maintain a strong security presence and ensure adherence to procedures.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when needed.

Ready to suit up as a Tactical Security Guard

What matters most in this role is your ability to read your environment, identify potential risks, and respond appropriately. Strong observation skills, sound judgment, situational awareness, and effective communication are essential to success in this position.

As a Tactical Security Guard, physical ability is also important. You will be active throughout your shift, regularly walking and patrolling assigned areas. You may work in a variety of environments, including retail stores, airports, security facilities, and other client sites.

We are looking for individuals who are alert, professional, physically capable, and confident in dealing with different situations and people.

• Maintain a strong security presence and ensure compliance with site procedures and protocols.
• Work collaboratively with law enforcement and emergency services during serious incidents when required.
