Position Overview

Support workers are a part of our specialized education team and provide supervision and assistance to students with additional support needs based on their learning or behavioural profile (including learning disabilities, and brain-based differences). Due to their unique needs, these students require individualized support in our small group learning environments, such as summer camps.

Principal roles & responsibilities

  1. The support worker assists teachers with individual and/or group support involving multiple students within classroom settings, providing support in areas of life skills, curriculum, and academics.
  2. The support worker encourages student participation in classroom activities and leads them in accomplishing daily goals including classroom tasks and assignments using blended learning (traditional and digital).
  3. The support worker communicates student progress and skill development with the education team and modifies student materials and instructions as needed under an instructor’s guidance.

Competencies & Requirements

  1. Current enrollment in a BEd, Early Childhood, or other related educational program (asset)
  2. Exceptional oral & written communication (English required)
  3. Adaptable and dependable

Start date: June 1, 2025

Reports to: Senior Manager, Programs

Hours of work: 35 hours/week split evenly over Mon-Fri

Remuneration & benefits: $27.05/hour

Location: This position will work out of our North Vancouver location (315 - 1277 Lynn Valley Road)

Job Type: Fixed-term summer contract (8 weeks)
