PSSEO provides support and services within South East Ontario to people living with addiction and/or mental health issues, seeking Peer Support as a means of managing and working toward well-being.
The Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer for Peer Support South East Ontario (PSSEO), overseeing the Peer Support Centres, Community Peer Support Services, and the coordination of education services. The role involves providing direction, leadership, and supervision to Peer Support Staff. In collaboration with PSSEO leadership, the Coordinator plans, organizes, and directs activities in line with the agency’s Strategic Plan, Accreditation Standards, and policies.
Responsibilities
- Models the agency’s philosophy, values, and Code of Conduct. Develops and reviews goals annually based on the Strategic Plan.
- Prepares and manages annual staffing, operating, and capital budgets, ensuring fiscal accountability.
- Reviews and approves staff payroll, monitoring attendance.
- Ensures completion of staff performance appraisals (probationary/annual).
- Provides direction for staff training and coordinates ongoing education programs.
- Maintains equipment and facilities, overseeing safety and maintenance work.
- Records and documents monthly statistics according to MIS Guidelines.
- Monitors daily activities at Support Centres, including attendance and programs.
- Develops and implements a Quality Measurement Plan for ongoing service evaluation.
- Ensures students meet agency requirements and have necessary tools for program completion.
- Maintains a safe work environment, develops safety procedures, and provides safety training (WHMIS, fire safety, AODA, Bill 168).
- Coordinates development of a Quality Management Program and a customer-focused Quality Assurance Program, including audits and staff performance.
- Represents the agency at community meetings and explores collaboration opportunities with the CEO.
- Conducts annual staff needs assessments for educational requirements.
- Supports ongoing education initiatives and acts as a contact for student placements.
- Offers flexible scheduling, including evening hours and on-call rotations.
Qualifications
- Education: College Diploma, University Degree, or equivalent experience in health-related disciplines or administration.
- Experience: 2+ years supervisory experience, preferably in Addictions and Mental Health.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes is essential.
- Valid driver’s license with a reliable vehicle and clean driver abstract required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and computer skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
