2025-040 FT Peer Food Services Worker FLS
We are seeking a Peer Food Service Worker who is enthusiastic and passionate about opportunities to work with individuals in the community. Our Peer Food Service Worker is a key member of our Housing services program. This role contributes to the support of our clients in providing invaluable services to individuals with addiction and/or mental health concerns within the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFLA) communities.

Our Peer Food Service Worker positions are members of Ontario Public Sectors Employee’s Union (OPSEU/SEFPO) Local 489 and work from various locations throughout KFLA.
Job Summary:
The Peer Food Service Worker, reporting to the Comprehensive Integrated (CI) Housing Manager, works as a part of an interdisciplinary team providing psychosocial rehabilitation and person-centered support to individuals within the Comprehensive Integrated Program. This program provides support to those with a history of long term hospitalizations and/or who require comprehensive and integrated supports and services to assist with the transition to living in the community and/or minimizing the occurrence of hospitalizations. The CI Housing team member aims to build the capacity and strengths of individuals and be an integral member in building a sense of community within the residential setting based on the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation and the recovery model. This incumbent focuses on the CI Housing meal program by planning, preparing and organizing daily community meals and/or developing individual food programs based on individual needs. The Peer Food Services Worker will ensure that meals provided reflect relevant nutritional best practice guidelines. Working collaboratively with individuals, team members and community stakeholders the incumbent will lead by championing the community meal programs/food literacy of the community and work alongside individuals building knowledge, skills, and confidence. All services are provided in accordance with the mission and established protocols of the Agency and the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation.
