Position: Full-Time Security Guard

Site: Peel Memorial Hospital - 20 Lynch Street, Brampton

Averaging Agreement : Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Rotating Continental (0700 - 1900 / 1900 - 0700)

Payrate: $19.19 / an hour (based on levelling system)

Internal Posting Date: May 20th, 2025

Internal Closing Date: May 26th, 2025

External Closing Date: June 3rd, 2025


Schedule Example:

  • Week 1 - Days- Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
  • Week 2 - Days - Sun, Wed-Thu
  • Week 3 - Nights - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
  • Week 4 - Nights - Sun, Wed-Thu

Job Description:

Working on assigned shifts, you will work full time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance. In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with mental health patients and patrons in the hospital
  • Proactively responding to calls to support your team in a dynamic environment
  • De-escalating crisis situations and handling emergencies
  • Working on assigned shifts, you will work 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents
  • You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents
  • Respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner
  • Display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance
  • This role required you to be physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Work closely with vulnerable populations
  • Monitor for and escalate security concerns within the Hospital
  • Provide security presence and support throughout the Hospital
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts
  • Work closely with local Law Enforcement and Emergency Services
  • Ensure safety of staff, patients, and visitors within the Hospital
