Role and Facility Information

The Fraser Health Authority (FHA), British Columbia's largest and fastest-growing health authority, serving a population of 1.7 million, is seeking a qualified 0.5 FTE pediatrician to join the medical staff at the Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) providing urgent pediatric services.

We are a collegial group working closely with obstetricians and emergency personnel. The hospital handles approximately 3,100 births per year, and has a Level 3 nursery. Our pediatrician group works from 08:00 to 17:00.

The successful applicant will be expected to establish a practice in the area, with opportunities to participate in FHA subspecialty clinics. We collaborate with surrounding hospitals to ensure children and youth in nearby areas have access to pediatric inpatient services. We have developed seamless local and provincial partnerships with the pediatric tertiary referral centre at BC Children’s Hospital and other local hospitals. Due to rapid population growth and increasing family housing, ongoing recruitment and service expansion are planned.

As a Fraser Health medical staff member, you will participate in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program and are encouraged to apply for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Pediatrics, UBC.

Anticipated start date: June 1, 2025, or as soon as the applicant is available.
