Job summary

Health Match BC invites a physician to join a collegial pediatric/family practice team at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. You will help establish a consulting community practice with a 1:7 funded on-call schedule, supporting eight colleagues in a busy, teaching hospital setting in Nanaimo, BC.The hospital features a 9-bed level 2b NICU, a dedicated pediatric ward and a new outpatient facility, with teaching opportunities through the UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residency Program site.

Role and Facility Information

Join a collegial team of eight colleagues and establish a consulting community practice with a 1:7 funded on-call schedule.

Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (224 acute beds) has a dedicated pediatric ward and new outpatient facility supported by a core team of pediatric nurses, dietician, diabetic nurse educator, and a full-time child life worker.

The hospital has a new state-of-the-art 9-bed, level 2b NICU, providing provincial beds to infants >32 weeks' gestation, including short-term ventilation and TPN.

The Nanaimo medical community offers the opportunity for teaching and is a UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residency Program site.
