As the main pediatrics clinical training site for the Faculty of Medicine at UBC, BCCH is the leading acute care teaching facility in the province, conducting research through BC Children's Hospital Research Institute (BCCHRI) and collaborations with other institutions.
The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology aims to provide excellent, province-wide diagnostic services for children with inflammatory/autoimmune rheumatic diseases, ensuring timely access and high-quality inter-professional care. Our goal is to maintain and improve patient care and outcomes within an academic environment that emphasizes research, teaching, and patient engagement, with a focus on equity and diversity.
Our internationally renowned center offers clinical care, education, and research, with a multidisciplinary team including Pediatric Rheumatologists, Clinical Research Assistants, Nurse Specialists, Occupational and Physiotherapists, and a Social Worker. This team fosters holistic, patient-centered care and a vibrant research and learning environment.
We seek a motivated Pediatric Rheumatologist to join our team, contributing to clinical care, research, and teaching.
Qualifications
The candidate will provide expert care in Pediatric Rheumatology clinics, including combined clinics with Nephrology, Dermatology, and Neurology. Responsibilities include outreach clinics in northern BC (Prince George and Terrace), inpatient and emergency consultations, and virtual services to expand access across the province.
The role involves leadership in research, mentoring, and education. Candidates must have subspecialty training in Pediatric Rheumatology accredited by RCPSC or an equivalent, and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. Strong collaboration, communication, leadership skills, and a commitment to advancing Pediatric Rheumatology are essential.
The position start date is ASAP. The closing date is May 2, 2025, or until filled.
