Job description

Island Health has a permanent opportunity for a Pediatric Respirologist in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. The Pediatric Respiratory Clinic provides medical consultations, patient management and all other required respiratory services to pediatric patients from all across Vancouver Island. The service is supported by a clinic RN and RT.
Physician duties include leading the asthma clinic at VGH, providing inpatient consultations at VGH, delivering consulting respiratory services across Vancouver Island, conducting outreach respiratory clinics in Duncan, interpreting all pediatric pulmonary function tests in Victoria and Duncan and conducting and interpreting approximately 300 overnight oximetries annually in Victoria and Duncan.

The service also conducts a Complex Care Clinic – managing all technology dependent children on the Island, e.g Home Ventilation, CPAP/BiPAP, in home High-Flow + O2, Tracheostomy, G/Jtube feeding.

Eligible applicants will hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. Eligible applicants will hold sub-specialty certification in Pediatric Respirology.
