Job summary

Entreinstitute is seeking a Pediatric Physiotherapist for a School-Based position with School District 79 in Duncan, BC. You will assess and plan therapies for children in the school setting.

The role requires a Master’s in physical therapy, registration with BC College, and about 2 years of clinical experience, ideally with pediatric clients.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, maintain records, and advocate for child and family needs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in physical therapy.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
  • 2 years’ clinical experience as a physical therapist; pediatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate clients’ physical abilities using tests and physician notes.
  • Plan and develop physiotherapy programs; adjust based on client progress.
  • Prepare and maintain clinical and statistical records; coordinate with other health professionals.
  • Implement programs including motor learning, balance and coordination, gait training, exercise, and adapted equipment.
  • Use home/work exercise regimes and electro/hydro-therapeutic equipment in individual and group settings.

Job Summary:

This Pediatric Physiotherapist position is the School-Based Position.

  • This is the physiotherapist for School District 79.
  • Assesses and evaluates clients’ physical abilities using functional ability testing, other tests and procedures, observation, and physician referral notes,
  • Plans and develops programs of physiotherapy derived from the assessment process. Makes program adjustments based on client progress,
  • Prepares and maintains clinical and statistical records. Confers with other health care professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent client therapies
  • Implements physiotherapy programs such as motor learning, balance and coordination, gait training, exercise programs and prescription of adapted equipment.
  • Uses a combination of supplemental home/work exercise regimes, electro/hydro-therapeutic and other mechanical equipment in individual and group settings
Education, Training and Experience
  • Master’s degree in physical therapy
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the Collegeof Health and Care Professionals of BC
  • 2 years’ experience in a clinical setting as a physicaltherapist; prefer experience working with pediatrics
    clients with complex medical conditions
Qualifications: Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledgeable about the principles of family centeredpractice
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Experience with a data management system
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team whosemembers have diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain current on best practice information

  • This position will require a valid B.C. Driver’s License and use of personal vehicle for transportation
