Pediatric Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon

British Columbia Children's Hospital (BC Children's) and the University of British Columbia (UBC) are seeking a full-time Pediatric Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon. BC Children's serves as the major referral centre for infants and children throughout British Columbia and the Yukon (population 5.1 million).

The successful candidate will join a team of five fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologists at a dedicated Children's Hospital established in 2017. The role involves providing comprehensive tertiary Pediatric Otolaryngology care, working in a collaborative teaching environment with healthcare professionals, fellows, residents, and students. Responsibilities include a busy clinical practice with dedicated OR time, multi-disciplinary clinics, and outreach programs serving Indigenous communities. On-call duty is a 1 in 6 rotation.

Qualifications
  1. Completion of fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
  2. Certification in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent.
  3. Eligibility for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

Preferred qualifications include subspecialty interest and experience in pediatric advanced otologic procedures, demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, and training in clinical research, surgical education, or quality improvement. Candidates must be eligible for appointment to the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UBC.

The candidate should also be committed to reconciliation efforts in line with the Truth & Reconciliation Commission (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019). Knowledge of Indigenous issues and anti-racism initiatives is highly valued.
