Job summary

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto seeks a Medical Lab Technologist to join the Molecular Genetics Laboratory within the DPLM division. You will perform analytical tests, interpret results, and contribute to high-quality paediatric diagnostics in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
• CMLTO registration in Molecular Genetics or Genetics is preferred.
• Solid computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Experience with paediatrics is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests, assess, interpret and report results.
• Prepare and issue samples and specimens.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and testing logs.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Follow health and safety procedures per DPLM and Hospital guidelines.
• Provide training to technologists, students and clinical fellows.
• Participate in quality control and documents control results.
• Review daily QC results and report issues to supervisor.
