Job summary

Alberta Health Services’ Alberta Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist I to join the inpatient pharmacy team. You will participate in patient rounds, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, review orders, prepare medications including parenteral and chemotherapy, and support operations.

Qualifications

Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist.
Entry-to-practice degree (Bachelor of Science or PharmD) in Pharmacy. Prescribing authorization required within 1st year of employment.
Experience: at least 1 year of direct patient care in pediatrics; hospital pharmacy experience in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

Safe, effective, and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services.
Manage medication therapy for patients and resolve drug-related problems.
Review and verify medication orders; assist with compounding and packaging.
