Overview

Pediatric Cardiologist

Position profile – Saskatchewan Health Authority – Saskatoon and University of Saskatchewan, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking applications for a 1.0 FTE Pediatric Cardiologist to join their team. The Department of Pediatrics is dedicated to providing exemplary health care for children, ensuring excellence in training of future pediatric health care providers, undertaking meritorious research and advocating for the health and well-being of children and youth.

The successful candidate will join four pediatric cardiologists providing tertiary and quaternary Pediatric Cardiology care for Saskatchewan’s population. All pediatric cardiac services are based at JPCH in Saskatoon, including inpatient and outpatient care, and diagnostic, interventional and fetal cardiology. Outreach clinics are currently provided in Regina, with plans to extend to other regional centres. Pediatric Cardiac Surgical services for children in Saskatchewan are provided through the Western Canadian Children’s Heart Network (WCCHN), with two regionalized centres at Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton and BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. The WCCHN also provides subspecialty support for electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, heart failure and cardiac transplantation, pulmonary hypertension and fetal cardiology. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills in general cardiology. Advanced training or experience in echocardiography, heart failure and cardiac transplantation, and/or fetal cardiology would be an asset. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all University faculty.
