Job summary

Dayforce seeks a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst to lead our Payroll Tax team, guiding Analysts and handling complex escalations. You will drive operational excellence, ensure accurate year-end reporting, and minimize W-2 corrections for customers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll tax or related field.
  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • FPC or CPP certification within two years of hire.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to Payroll Tax Analysts.
  • Lead customer calls related to payroll tax escalations and drive resolution.
  • Deliver best practice presentations and client guidance to internal/external teams.
  • Promote proactive communication and involve leadership when needed.
  • Drive process improvements aligning with business strategy and operational excellence.
  • Share knowledge and best practices across the team for scalability.

About the Opportunity

As a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst, you will play a leadership role within the payroll tax team by providing guidance to Payroll Tax Analysts, managing customer escalations, and driving operational excellence. You will lead a pod of Payroll Tax Analysts, helping to ensure team productivity, knowledge sharing, and exceptional customer service. This role is focused on ensuring employees are taxed accurately and that payroll tax processes are executed with the highest level of quality and compliance. Success is measured through accurate year-end tax reporting and minimizing W-2 corrections for our customers.

  • Serve as the first point of contact and provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to Payroll Tax Analysts.
  • Lead customer calls related to payroll tax escalations, providing expertise and driving successful resolution.
  • Deliver best practice presentations and customer-specific guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Promote proactive communication by responding promptly to team members and customers and engaging additional leadership support when needed.
  • Drive innovative solutions and recommend process improvements that align with business strategy and operational excellence.
  • Share knowledge, best practices, and subject matter expertise across the team to support continuous learning and scalability.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of customers while performing the responsibilities of a Payroll Tax Analyst as required.
  • Partner with leadership on strategic projects that support team development, operational improvements, and organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrate initiative by identifying opportunities, leading projects, and driving successful outcomes.
Skills and Experience We Value
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll tax, payroll administration, human resources, or a related field.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification required within two years of hire.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support team members.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
What Would Make You Stand Out
  • Experience leading or mentoring payroll tax professionals.
  • Experience presenting payroll tax best practices to customers or internal stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance, year-end processing, and W-2 reporting.

  • Experience working within a managed services or payroll outsourcing environment.

Proficiency in English
