Qualifications

  • Proficient with Outlook, Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Sort, acknowledge, and file payroll documents promptly
  • Archive payroll records securely and enable retrieval
  • Perform inquiries in Oracle Payroll for timely responses
  • Provide clerical support to the Payroll team as required
  • Supply information to internal departments and external agencies
  • Assist with general payroll duties to support daily operations
  • Offer orientation and guidance to colleagues as needed
  • Contribute to a collaborative, service-focused payroll environment

As a Payroll Support Clerk, you play a critical role inmaintainingthe integrity and accuracy of payroll operations. You are detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing large volumes of administrative work while meeting tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

The Role
  • Sorting, acknowledging, and accurately filing payroll documentsin a timely manner;
  • Administering archiving of payroll records and documentation, including secure storage and retrieval;
  • Performing inquiries within Oracle Payroll to supporttimelyandaccurateresponses to employee and external inquiries;
  • Providing clerical and administrative support to Payroll team members asrequired;
  • Supplying information to internal departments and external agenciesin accordance withestablished procedures;
  • Assistingwith general payroll-related duties to support smooth daily operations;
  • Providing orientation, guidance, and informal training to colleagues as needed;
  • Contributing to a collaborative, service-focused payroll environment;
What you bring to the team
  • Successful completion of High School Education (Grade 12)
  • Currently enrolled in the National Payroll Institute’s Payroll Compliance legislation course, working towards PCP certification
  • Successful completion of Payroll Compliance and Legislation under the Canadian Payroll Association preferred
  • Ability to multi-task & handle rapidly changing priorities
  • Demonstratesstrong communicationskills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Outlook,Wordand Excel
  • Strong teamorientation
  • High levelof self-motivation and initiative
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability toestablishand maintain cooperative working relationships
Additionalinformation

The salary for this bargaining unitposition is $4,533 per month
