Job Title: Payroll Specialist (BILLINGUAL FRENCH REQUIRED)

Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will schedule, input, audit, and process payroll for multiple clients with varying complexities. You will coordinate incoming payroll data, maintain accurate client and employee records, and provide exceptional customer service. You will be the first point of escalation for clients, deliver training and mentorship to peers, balance client accounts, complete third-party remittances, evaluate processes for automation, and partner with the New Client Integration team. Maintaining CPA designation is essential. *6 month contract with leading global company.*

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, input, audit, and process payroll for multiple clients.
  • Coordinate incoming payroll data for assigned clients.
  • Maintain complete and accurate client and employee records.
  • Respond to and resolve client and employee inquiries via phone and email.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for clients.
  • Deliver training and mentorship to new hires and peers.
  • Balance client accounts throughout the year and during year-end.
  • Complete all third-party remittances and reporting by due dates.
  • Evaluate processes for automation opportunities.
  • Partner with the New Client Integration team for transitioning new clients.
  • Act as a mentor and provide guidance to team members.
  • Maintain CPA designation.

Essential Skills

  • Payroll experience
  • PCP certification or close to completing it
  • Bilingual in French
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with ADP payroll, Excel, WFN, and garnishments
  • Proficiency in payroll processing, payroll tax, and reporting
  • Knowledge of Canadian laws and compliance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • CPM certification
  • Experience servicing small business clients
  • Handling end-to-end payroll for 7-10 customers
  • Processing payroll for 2000 employees per month across all provinces

Work Environment

This position will be based in an office, with the possibility of remote work if located over 80KM from the office. Offices are located in Toronto, Halifax, Montreal, and Vancouver. The role follows a hybrid model with a minimum of two to three days in the office per week. The working hours are 9AM-5PM, with potential overtime depending on the time of year. Please note that there is a vacation blackout period from December to the end of March.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00
