Responsibilities :

  • Lead the cleanup of legacy payroll issues and establish clear, documented procedures for sustainability.
  • Partner with HR and Finance teams to align payroll operations with organizational goals and reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and champion the implementation of payroll system upgrades.
  • Provide mentorship and support to a small payroll team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on payroll legislation, tax requirements, and benefits integration.
  • Support audits and contribute to the development of a robust, future-proof payroll function.
  • Build relationships across departments to deliver a seamless employee payroll experience.

Requirements :

  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership of small teams.
  • Proven expertise in resolving complex payroll challenges and driving process improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits administration.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Payworks, or similar) and automation projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead confidently in a dynamic, changing environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Remuneration :

  • 110 - 120K plus full benefits and excellent perks.
