Job summary

The University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a six-month term Payroll & Benefits Specialist within the University Human Resources team. Under general direction, you will manage payroll, benefits and pension matters for faculty and staff at UTM, ensuring compliance with payroll processes and collective agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; PCP/PLP designation preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of high-volume payroll experience with SAP or similar systems.
• Strong knowledge of HR and payroll policies, confidentiality and data security.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for faculty and staff at UTM accurately for bi-weekly and monthly cycles.
• Produce monthly HRIS reports; maintain HRIS records and position data.
• Conduct benefit orientations and assist employees with payroll, benefits and pension inquiries.
• Investigate payroll and benefit issues and advise on solutions.
• Provide data and reports to supervisors and participate in committees.
