We are looking for an independent and creative Payroll / HR Technician who will enjoy being part of this exciting growth.
The Position
In collaboration with HR team members, and under the leadership of the VP of HR, you will hold a dual role within the department:
- Payroll and benefits management in Canada.
- Administrative HR management and advisory for Canada and the USA.
With this dual function, you will play a central role within the HR department, with visibility over the complete employee management cycle at Labelink.

Your Playground
Payroll and benefits management (Canada)
- Manage payroll and related services (approx. 2 days / week, bi-weekly payroll) for our 6 plants in Canada (QC, Ontario, Alberta), covering over 250 employees.
- Act as the point of contact for all general payroll-related questions.
- Act as administrator of our payroll platform EmployeurD and time management system InfoPunch, from both Payroll and HR perspectives.
- Collect, verify, and process data related to hours worked, leaves, absences, and other compensation elements.
- Collaborate with HR business partners to address various requests from internal clients.
- Work closely with the Finance department to transmit the necessary information for the consolidation of financial statements.
- Perform any other project or task necessary for the proper execution of payroll activities.
HR Technician Responsibilities
The other portion of your role covers HR administration across Canada and the US, allowing you to fully participate in other special projects with your colleagues.
- Act as the point of contact for all general HR-related questions.
- Support HR Advisors in recruitment processes and employee onboarding.
- Apply provincial laws and regulations: training law, francization law, data protection law, occupational health and safety, etc.
- Manage the group insurance program and other employee benefits implemented over time.
- Prepare consolidated monthly performance indicators.
- Collaborate with HR Advisors to manage the administrative aspect of the department, including employee files, letters, and all other requests related to smooth departmental operations.
- Create, improve, implement, and follow up on internal policies;
- Participate in managing internal communications and organizing social activities / events.
- Identify and pursue other tasks or projects that contribute to an ethical, caring, and efficient HR service offering.
Your Profile
- College diploma in administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in Canadian payroll processing.
- Member of CPA or APA (asset).
- Experience with large-scale payroll software and/or knowledge of the EmployeurD system (assets).
- Experience collaborating with the HR department and/or a strong interest in expanding HR expertise.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Oral and written bilingualism required (French and English); mastery of English is crucial to support our plants in Ontario and Alberta.
