Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our Winnipeg corporate team. You will manage the full payroll cycle for hourly, salaried, union and non-union employees across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role requires post-secondary education and PCP designation or progress, plus hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll software (UKG Pro is a plus).

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, HR, or related field or equivalent.
• Completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or currently pursuing it.
• Hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll software; UKG Pro payroll is an asset.
• Knowledge of payroll standards and GAAP.
• Strong Microsoft 365 skills (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Process payroll across multiple locations and divisions for hourly, salaried, union, and non-union employees.
• Maintain employee payroll records for new hires, terminations, wage changes, leaves, and other changes.
• Investigate and resolve pay issues involving taxes, deductions, pay calculations, and deposits.
• Complete month-end and year-end payroll reconciliations and support year-end reporting (T4s).
• Provide prompt payroll and benefits support to employees and managers.
• Collaborate with the benefits team on enrolments, changes and terminations.

The Role

As P&H continues to grow, we are looking for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our Corporate team in Winnipeg. This role is responsible for all aspects of the payroll cycle. You will manage the full payroll cycle for hourly, salaried, union, and non-union employees across multiple locations and divisions, making sure employees are paid accurately and on time, in line with government regulations and company policy.

Day to Day

• Process payroll across multiple locations and divisions, including hourly, salaried, union and non-union employees.
• Maintain employee payroll records for new hires, terminations, wage changes, and leaves of absence and other job changes, keeping them accurate and up to date.
• Investigate and resolve pay issues involving taxes, deductions, pay calculations, and direct deposits.
• Complete month-end and year-end payroll reconciliations, including support for year-end reporting such as T4s.
• Provide support to employees and managers, answering payroll and benefit questions clearly and promptly.
• Work closely with the benefits team in managing employee enrolments, changes, and terminations across all company benefit plans.
• Prepare monthly benefit payments and reconcile employee benefit
• Handle confidential employee and pay information with the highest level of discretion.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation holder or currently working toward it
• Hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll software is required; experience with UKG Pro Payroll is an asset
• Knowledge of payroll related standards and regulations along with generally accepted accounting principles
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Application Suite (Word, Excel)
• Effective analytical, organizational and time-management skills
• Sharp attention to detail, with a proven ability to deliver accurate work on tight deadlines
• A driven self-starter who seeks out opportunities to learn and grow
• Collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with others, backfilling for colleagues, monitoring a shared inbox, and helping distribute work across the team
• Available to work on-site at our Winnipeg office
