We are growing! We have expanded our business and our products. Previously a division of TYCROP Manufacturing Ltd., TYCROP Trailers Inc. is now a stand-alone business! We still make the trailers we’re known for, but we have expanded our product lineup to help meet the growing demand for energy in North America.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll and HR Coordinator to join our team. This multifaceted role combines payroll with employee-focused HR management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll and administering key HR functions for our 150+ employee base, which has both union and non-union employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Management:

  • Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payroll schedules
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings, as well as prepare year-end employee T4 slips and summary and PIER reporting
  • Prepare payroll reports, analyze data, and ensure alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Address employee payroll inquiries and provide exceptional service while resolving issues promptly.
  • Remain current on new legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll. Enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on required actions
  • Prepare and process Record of Employment, involuntary and voluntary termination pays, confirmation of employment letters, and WorkSafe BC reports

Human Resources Management:

  • Administer employee group benefits programs, including enrollment, communication with benefits providers, and monthly reconciliations
  • Assist with RSP contributions, ensuring accurate deductions and timely remittances
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including benefits setup and final payroll adjustments.
  • Act as a neutral mediator to address workplace disputes and foster a collaborative, positive work environment.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including but not limited to benefits, payroll, and compliance documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified in Payroll administration
  • Experience working with unionized environments and collective agreements, considered an asset
  • 2 – 5 years of payroll experience
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and HR platforms.
  • Knowledge of procedures and best practices, labor and employment legislation, and government policies (E.g., Employment Standards, Labor Relations Code, and Human Rights)
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to address employee inquiries and foster positive relations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
