Job summary

Velocity Vehicle Group in Edmonton, AB seeks a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our hybrid team. You will manage full cycle semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salary staff across locations and handle benefits administration including RRSP plans.

The role requires 5+ years in payroll/benefits, experience with Ceridian Dayforce, and strong MS Office skills. CPP sertification and payroll education are assets; a fast-paced, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll and benefits administration.
• Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
• Initiative-taker and able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certifications is an asset.
• Post secondary education in payroll is an asset.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting.
• Previous experience with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS system, current payroll practices and worker compensation programs.
• Above average skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process full cycle semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salary employees in multiple locations.
• Administration of employee group benefits and Company RRSP plans.
• Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll and benefit reports, including monthly journal entries.
• Perform general ledger reconciliation and account analysis for payroll accounts.
• Update monthly insurance with providers and internal JV calculations; maintain files and monitor eligibility.
• Liaise between employees and insurance/benefit providers.
• Other payroll-related tasks as required.

Primary Job Functions

• Prepare and process full cycle semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salary employees in multiple locations and collective agreements.
• Administration of employee group benefits and Company RRSP plans
• Prepare, review, and reconcile various payroll and benefit related reports for salaried and/or hourly employees, including monthly journal entries.
• Perform general ledger reconciliation and account analysis for various payroll and withholding accounts.
• Perform monthly insurance updating online with company group benefit providers, and internally including calculations for monthly JV's. Maintain insurance files and monitor eligibility and changes as required.
• Function as liaison between Company employees and various insurance and employee benefit providers.
• Other payroll-related tasks as required.
