As the Payroll and Benefits Analyst, you will play a vital role in administering and maintaining the Workday system with a strong focus on Oldcastle APG’s Canadian businesses. This role will be responsible for managing and updating various Workday modules and collaborating effectively with key business stakeholders as well as our Payroll Managed Service partner, IT and Finance. Additionally, you’ll collaborate closely with the HR team across Canada to appropriately configure policies and drive consistent best practices across the organization. Employees can be based from any of our main Canadian Offices – Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal.

Responsibilities
  1. Relationship Management: Manage relationship with OSV, Canada Life, and other key HR vendors for the Canada business. Act as liaison between the Operating Companies and the vendors as appropriate.
  2. Data Management: Responsible for maintaining employee level data in Workday.
  3. Payroll Processing: Ensuring accurate payroll processing through OSV for Canadian employees, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  4. Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, ensuring alignment with Canadian standards.
  5. Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation and remittance of taxes adhering to Canadian tax laws.
  6. HR Support: Provide support to HR across Canadian Operating Companies regarding payroll and benefits inquiries, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  7. Reporting and Audits: Prepare and maintain payroll and benefits reports, conducting regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with Canadian regulations. Serve as point of contact for all Canadian reporting.
Requirements
  1. Specialized degree in payroll or accounting.
  2. Strong understanding and experience with Workday’s HCM and Payroll Modules.
  3. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  4. Bilingualism in French and English.
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian Payroll, Benefits, and Provincial regulations.
  6. Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is an asset.
  7. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
  8. Detail-oriented and committed to data integrity and accuracy.
