The Keystone Centre is hiring a Payroll and Accounting Clerk.
With a multi-million-dollar economic impact and provider of over 2,000 jobs to Westman residents, the Keystone Centre is a pillar in our community. From Wheat Kings games to Ag Days to conferences & celebrations, the Keystone is a hub for community.
Role Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Payroll and Accounting Clerk will manage day-to-day payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, and assist with routine financial operations and reporting.
Working collaboratively with internal departments, vendors, and benefit providers, the Payroll and Accounting Clerk will ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll and benefits, while maintaining compliance with all applicable payroll legislation and company policies. This role also supports the organization?s financial accuracy and integrity by maintaining precise accounting records, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
The Payroll and Accounting Clerk is responsible for full-cycle payroll using ADP, benefit and pension administration, invoice processing, and maintaining financial records in support of the organization?s overall financial health and operational efficiency.
? Process full-cycle biweekly payroll using ADP, including calculation of wages, overtime, and statutory deductions.
? Verify timesheets, reconcile payroll discrepancies, and input accurate data into payroll systems.
? Administer employee benefit and pension programs, ensuring timely enrollment, updates, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
? Prepare and file payroll tax forms and remittances, ensuring compliance with all provincial and federal payroll legislation.
? Maintain accurate, confidential records of employee payroll, benefits, and deductions.
? Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
? Generate and prepare payroll reports for management and other relevant departments.
? Process vendor invoices and payments in accordance with established procedures and payment terms.
? Prepare and issue customer invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments.
? Reconcile bank statements and accounting records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
? Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including preparation of general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
? Assist with managing cash flow, tracking balances, and maintaining accurate financial documentation.
? Provide support to the accounting team and other departments as needed.
? Maintain confidentiality of all financial and employee information.
? Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.
? A diploma in Accounting or a degree in Business Administration; recent graduates of post-secondary programs are welcome to apply.
? 1?3 years of relevant experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping/accounting.
? Proficiency with payroll and accounting software?experience with ADP and Sage is highly preferred.
? A solid understanding of payroll legislation, CRA remittances, and employment standards.
? Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems.
? Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
? Analytical mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve them effectively.
? High degree of accuracy and confidentiality when working with sensitive data.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
? Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Working Conditions:
? Travel may be required.
? This role requires 40 hours per week, with rare instances of overtime required.
? Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
? Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
