About The Opportunity

The Analysts report to Managers within the Corporate Reporting, Budget, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Analytics departments. They provide analytical support for corporate activities (Budget, Variance Analysis, Forecasting, Reporting), transactional processing (Accounts Receivable, Payroll), and support to NS Health leaders (Directors, Managers, Physician Leaders).

Under the Payroll Manager's guidance, the Analyst manages end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Responsibilities include scheduling, executing payroll jobs, analyzing reports, processing adjustments, overseeing remittances, and supporting year-end activities like T4 submissions. They collaborate with IM/IT on system updates, master data management, and testing, troubleshooting issues and escalating when necessary. They also develop analyses and recommendations to improve performance, reduce risks, and support business decisions.

This position utilizes a hybrid work model with work-from-home privileges.

About You
  • Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business and/or accounting program (required)
  • Undergraduate business degree (preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years management and/or system experience with knowledge of budget, corporate reporting, accounting, and analytics
  • Accounting designation enrollment or completion (asset)
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes and KPIs
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance and payroll practices, government legislation
  • Proficiency with SAP for Finance and Payroll, understanding technical aspects and business impact
  • Experience in team engagement, mentoring, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Conflict resolution skills and delegation abilities
  • Knowledge of additional languages, especially French (asset)

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 75 hrs bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$33.80 - $42.25 hourly. Benefits may include health, dental, travel, disability, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
