ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald’s Accounting & Finance team is growing! If you are a committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.

The Payroll Administrator is based in Markham, Ontario, with a work-from-home option balanced with in-office work. The role typically reports directly to the Payroll Manager. The primary focus is on processing hourly unionized payroll under the direction of the Payroll Manager. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Working with unions, interpreting and updating wage schedules, burden tables, and performing monthly union reconciliations.
  • Accurate and timely end-to-end processing of payrolls and payments via direct deposit, including new employee setup and handling terminations with ROEs using HRDC WebROE.
  • Responding to payroll inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for provincial items like WSIB / WCB, EHT.
  • Annual preparation of T4, RL1, T2200 forms.

  • Completed PCP designation with NPI
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and understanding of:

  • Ability to work well in a deadline-driven environment
  • Unionized construction experience (asset)
  • JD Edwards or other ERP systems (asset)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
