Job description

We’re supporting a longstanding client in their confidential search for a Payroll & Accounting Clerk. This role blends payroll processing and general accounting support and would suit someone comfortable working with sensitive employee data in a close-knit, process-driven environment.

About the Opportunity
Reporting into a collaborative finance team, this position plays a key role in payroll processing, as well as assisting with journal entries, invoicing, and general month-end duties. Some exposure to HR paperwork (e.g., onboarding and terminations) is included, though all decision-making remains centralized with the HR lead and hiring managers.

Type:Full-Time Permanent (Open to Temp-to-Perm)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Processing semi-monthly payroll through ADP Workforce Now (hourly + salaried staff)
  • Updating employee records and assisting with ROEs, benefits, and year-end T4s
  • Supporting accounting with journal entries, invoice entry, order confirmations, and month-end close
  • Assisting with AR/AP functions as needed
  • Managing admin tasks related to onboarding, offboarding, and job postings
  • Handling confidential payroll and compensation data with discretion

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–3 years of payroll/accounting experience
  • Exposure to ADP Workforce Now is essential
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and general bookkeeping practices
  • Some HR exposure is a plus, though this is not a decision-making HR role
  • High attention to detail and discretion required due to access to salary and personnel data
  • Strong communication and comfort working both independently and in a collaborative team setting

Compensation:

  • $52,000–$54,000 annually
