Position: Payer Account Executive

The Payer Account Executive is responsible for leading the full end-to-end sales cycle, developing sales and account management strategies, and identifying growth opportunities in assigned territories and payer accounts. This role manages the sales process from lead generation, proposal and contract negotiations, to deal closure and account management. The role aims to meet or exceed sales goals while maintaining high standards of integrity, quality, and customer service.

Primary Functions
  • Develop and manage sales and account strategies to optimize target account selling, deal closure, and contract growth.
  • Generate new sales leads through networking, prospecting, cold calling, and leveraging internal marketing and PR activities.
  • Lead target account selling, including prospecting, qualification, scoping, negotiations, and closing.
  • Build strong relationships with clients to understand their goals and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Manage and resolve escalated customer challenges.
  • Present business reviews on client program performance aligned with strategic goals.
  • Participate in contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client expectations and deliverables.
  • Monitor sales performance and upcoming needs to plan for growth.
  • Work with partners to extend reach and promote product adoption.
  • Prioritize sales and retention discussions with clients.
  • Stay informed about the competitive landscape to inform proposals and pricing.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Smile Digital Health’s solutions and target markets.
  • Contribute to sales planning meetings.
  • Achieve sales targets and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Adhere to privacy, security, and confidentiality policies.
Prerequisites
  • 7+ years of progressive sales experience with B2B software or technology, managing long sales cycles and deals of $100K+.
  • Post-secondary education in business or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare technology industry drivers, including payers and government agencies.
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions.
  • Proven consulting experience with organizational stakeholders, including executives.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with analytical capability.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows/Mac, Google Suite, Salesforce (preferred).
