Job summary

Apave Canada is seeking PAUT Technicians in British Columbia to join our Advanced NDT Services team. This full-time role requires PAUT and CGSB UT Level II certifications and the ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PAUT inspections on pipeline welds, piping systems, tie-in welds, and associated infrastructure during construction and maintenance activities.
  • Analyze and interpret PAUT data to identify, characterize, and document indications per project specs and standards.
  • Generate clear, accurate inspection reports and maintain documentation.
  • Work with project management, operations, engineering, QA and construction to support project execution objectives.
  • Ensure inspections comply with client requirements, regulatory standards and company quality programs.
  • Participate in project planning, safety meetings, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain calibration, verification, and proper operation of PAUT equipment and software.
  • Support project schedules through efficient inspection execution with safety and quality.

PAUT Technician- British Columbia

Apave Canada has immediate, Full-time position available for PAUT Technicians and CGSB Certified Technicians within our Advanced NDT Services Department in British Columbia.

Candidates must hold valid PAUT Certifications & CGSB certifications in Ultrasonic Testing (UT). Please indicate all certifications and levels currently held in your application.

Job Duties:
  • Perform Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) inspections on pipeline welds, piping systems, tie-in welds, and associated infrastructure during construction and maintenance activities.
  • Analyze and interpret PAUT data to accurately identify, characterize, and document indications in accordance with applicable project specifications and industry standards.
  • Generate clear, accurate, and timely inspection reports and maintain inspection documentation.
  • Work closely with project management, operations, engineering, quality assurance, and construction personnel to support project execution objectives.
  • Ensure all inspections are completed in compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and company quality programs.
  • Participate in project planning, safety meetings, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain calibration, verification, and proper operation of PAUT equipment and associated software.
  • Support project schedules through efficient execution of inspection activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • PCN PAUT Level II and CGSB UT Level II certifications are required.
  • Additional CGSB certifications (MT, PT, RT, ET, or CEDO) would be considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of PAUT techniques, weld inspection methodologies, and industry codes and standards.
  • Experience working on pipeline, terminal, facility, or integrity-related projects is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with inspection reporting software and digital data management systems.
  • Ability to travel and work at various project locations as required.
Safety Requirements:
  • Commitment to all site-specific safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Steel-toe boots are required; Apave Canada will provide additional PPE.
  • Participation in project-specific orientations, training programs, and fit-for-duty requirements may be required.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have access to health benefits and will be required to join a union affiliated with the QCCC, if not already a member.
