Job summary

Oak Valley Health in Markham, Ontario is seeking Porters to support patient and equipment transport across our hospital. You will move patients, specimens, soiled and clean linen carts, and pharmaceuticals, contributing to timely, safe patient care.

The role requires a customer-service mindset, clear communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Shifts include days, evenings and nights with alternating weekends; reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service role.
• Portering experience preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Able to prioritize and work in an environment with multiple demands.
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
• Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others by following policies and mandatory education as required.

Responsibilities

• Transportation of patients and equipment to all areas
• Transportation of specimens, soiled equipment and delivery of clean and soiled linen carts
• Transportation of pharmaceutical meds, supplies and scripts
• Other duties as assigned
