Responsibilities & Requirements

The Patient Registration I position’s primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Registering patients with excellent guest relations, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Reviewing scheduled outpatient visits to ensure patients have been screened for discounts.
  • Discussing payer sources, payment options, and arrangements with patients.
  • Assisting patients with completing Financial Assistance Forms, HCAP Applications, and Medicaid Applications (if applicable).
  • Reviewing accounts for accuracy and demonstrating the ability to update all patient account details.
  • Understanding and complying with all registration forms, consents, and related legal documentation.
Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Previous registration or scheduling experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to meet pre-screening protocols and demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, phone communication, and customer service.
  • Strong teamwork and effective communication across all levels.
  • Willingness to learn site-specific patient processing software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, stressful environment while maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Flexible schedule to meet staffing needs.

Education:

  • High school diploma required.
  • One or more years of medical office or customer service experience required.
