Position Summary

Northern Health is seeking an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Patient Registration Clerk.

In alignment with the organization’s vision and values, this role supports the continuity of care for patients, clients, and their families by utilizing technology to register patients across Northern Health. Responsibilities include creating and managing client and patient data, and handling discharge, transfer, and electronic health system applications in accordance with Registration Policies and Procedures.

Mandatory Requirements: 45 wpm typing speed and certification from a reputable college in medical terminology.

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work:

Days, Evenings, Nights - 08:00 to 16:00, 16:00 to 23:59, 23:59 to 07:59, Rotating

About University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC)

UHNBC is the largest acute care facility in the Northern Health region and a hub for specialized health services. It is also a teaching hospital:

  • Provides undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program, run by UBC and UNBC.
  • Hosts residents in UBC's Family Practice Residency Program.
  • Serves as a clinical education site for nursing and health sciences students from UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT, and others.

Qualifications

Grade 12 and two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
